Day 19,732

Hi kids!

Grampa Bob had a pretty good day today… and may have overdone it just a bit, but for an acceptable reason.

I got up at 6:00 am to get ready for my day. I knew that I had to be on the first conference bus so I vould be on the floor by 7:30… Yeah…  I got there about 7:45, 15 minutes late.

I managed my shift until 10:30, then slid over to the Immersion Center (No one was really immersed in any weird semi-liquid substance, but it sounded good to the marketing people), and saw some of my old MCT friends.

And I saw Rachel.

Rachel is a friend, and she’s the widow of a dear friend of mine, Enrique Lima. I know Rachel probably had to pull a few strings to come down to see folks at this event, but every year since Enrique’s untimely passing, we celebrate him through an award to a member of the MCT community which he (and we) hold so dear. (Good on ya, Glen!)

So I did my regular conference thing, caught a couple of sessions, fulfilled whatever social obligations I had at the moment, and headed on down the road.

Tonight, there was an event specific to our group, and we passed out the community award named in Enrique’s honor.

Then we found out that the bar that was hosting our event had Enrique’s favorite Guatemalan rum available.

Yeah.

Kind of went downhill from there, but to my credit, the fact that I can still write this blog after those festivities ought to be a credit to my constitution and my liver.

Don’t worry, I haven’t passed that weird level of inebriation where I suck and I don’t deserve you guys and you’re the best friends ever.

I already knew that going in.

I am blessed with a tremendous community, and I am so very proud to be associated with my peer Microsoft Certified Trainers.

And Enrique was the best of us.

Miss you, brother.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,731

Is that the most important thing we have to worry about right now?

Maybe I don’t ask myself that question enough.

There are any number of things wrong with the world right now, and in the USA the single most important thing that we apparently must discuss is a bunch of athletes taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem.

I get the protest. I support the right to protest. I understand what these folks are protesting about.

It’s been going on awhile.

And if we take a look at the total volume of bandwidth being consumed by this topic, it’s pretty crazy.
Remember that ED condition in man is completely treatable, and there viagra sildenafil mastercard is no reason for believing the new relationship cannot become physical. Besides, no http://cute-n-tiny.com/page/74/ viagra in stores breaking of strips indicates no nocturnal erection. The force is supposed to free viagra 100mg be regulated by the application of the efficient medicament pattern.

I think we need to focus our attention on bigger issues. Puerto Rico is in distress. The people there are hurting far more by the after-effects of the hurricane than the level of emotional distress being felt by some MAGA fanboy over some athlete taking a knee to draw attention to the mistreatment of some people by other people in authority positions.

I make my own choices in this matter. We live in a free country. If someone else sees things differently and wants to express themselves in some fashion, that’s their choice.

And Puerto Rico is running out of drinking water. Can we get focused on that rather than some idiotic tweets?

Peace y’all.

Day 19,730

OK, so, if you read my post from yesterday, you know that Grampa Bob is at a Microsoft Conference in Orlando.

Tonight was supposed to be “The Krewe” Meet and Greet party at some piano bar here closeby. I decided to ditch it because tonight was the debut episode of “Star Trek: Discovery”, and to be frank, you don’t get a new Star Trek series every couple of years. I had to kick back and watch.

I’m that kind of a guy.

So I watched. Then I hit up the CBS: All Access site to watch the second episode because I’m that guy and this was Star Trek. We don’t need to justify the action, we just do it. Fanship demands it.

I’m satisfied for now. Gramma and I will probably go back and spend an evening reviewing the new episodes to get up to date.

In the meantime, I’ve got a seven o’clock wake-up call and then a trip over to the convention center here. It’s going to be an exciting week for those of us that really get into the computer world that is Microsoft.

I hope to have an exciting week. Maybe this will be the year I win an XBOX.

Time will tell.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,729

Well, that was definitely an interesting day.

This morning I got up early as I didn’t sleep well (usually don’t  the night before a trip) and headed off to the airport. leaving the house sometime around 4:50 AM.

I arrived at satellite parking at the Kansas City airport and took the bus to the terminal to check in.

Sometime between the moment I checked in and the moment I sat down after passing through security, I lost my phone.

I have no idea what utilitarian devices you guys have at your disposal, but here in 2017, smart phones are an important part of this guy’s life.

Anyway, crisis averted. Gramma Lisa ran to the airport and picked it up in the lost and found. She’s having it shipped to me.

I’ll feel better when it’s back in my grubby mitts.

I’m not feeling that great right now though. Evening, long day of travel, really didn’t feel up to getting out of the hotel to do much of anything. Probably best I rest up. I’ll need all the extra energy I can muster.

I’m a little shy of 200 words right now, so this is the sentence or two that I add in to get to that magic number of 200.

Bingo.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,728

Hi kids.

Tomorrow, Grandpa Bob has to head off to Orlando, Florida for a conference, the Microsoft Ignite conference (used to be the Microsoft Technet event, but that got renamed and combined with a few other conferences).

I’m looking forward to a reunion with my professional peers. Any number of these folks are people with whom I’ve been acquainted for the twenty years or more. That’s a pretty long time in any professional setting, and some of these relationships have evolved into some of the strongest friendships a guy could hope to have.

I’m not going to take a lot of time and digress about the event and what it means for me to participate, but it is something I find myself looking forward to year after year. It’s about the shared experience year after year, as well the relationships that evolve from such.

I am a lucky man.

I claim friends from every continent and more countries than I can count.

I’ll probably spend a fair amount of time over the coming week apologizing for our country electing a glorified game show host as the leader of this country. I can no longer claim that the President of the United States if the leader of the free world… we abdicated that role on January 20, 2017.

Not much more for now. Hope you are well.

I have a flight catch early.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,727

Hi kids, Grampa Bob here again.

I’m in a weird mood… and this kind of ties into why I post my blog by “days”. Today is day 19,727 in my life (I probably ought to double check my math one of these times… I’d hate to find out I was projecting weird base-10 anniversaries based on bad math).

I hit day 10,000 of my life on 2/1/1991. I would’ve been 27 years old. If memory serves, I was recovering from having my right knee reconstructed. I lived in Salina. At that point, I would’ve been working at the Salina Journal, prior to my decision to get back into IT full-time. I wasn’t really involved with anyone then.

Day 20,000 hits next summer. I’ll be 54. I’ll hopefully still be gainfully employed by Centriq Training in Leawod, Kansas. I hope I’ll be renewed as a Regional Lead for the Microsoft Certified Trainer program.

I also eyeballed that 30,000 day date. I will (God willing) hit my 30,000 day in this planet on November 4, 2045. I will be 82 years old.

Though we all still do prefer to take allopathic medicine hop over to here cialis 10 mg for swift, temporary relief; You must be aware of the debilitating havoc that high pressure can slowly but steadily wreck on their body. The average human life is 30,000 days.

I wonder sometimes whether I’ll be on the plus side or the negative side of that average. I worry about age 57. That’s kind of a family thing on my dad’s side. 57 looms like a shadow… maybe I ought to look at my 58th birthday as an important landmark date as well.

Time will tell.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,726

Hi kids, hope you’re having a good day.

My day went pretty well. Got a few things done around here, then went into the job – yes – I know you are shocked, but I do have a full-time job as a technical trainer – and I gave a two-hour presentation on implementing security in Microsoft’s cloud.

Right now I’m wondering if Microsoft exists as a company in the future in which you live. It might, it might not.

If it is… they need security!

Everybody does.

So, that went well. Had a great time, showed the folks that showed up a few things that they didn’t know, so yeah, I did my job.

The thing is right now, there were a few other things I thought about earlier today that I thought would be great topics for a blog update. And I can’t remember what they were. I should have written them down when I had them, because… I gotta admit… they seemed pretty cool topics at the time.
But, what we might not know is that a portion of the men have unfavorably susceptible response against the utilization cialis on line of this medication. They avoid their partners and make argument when she asks for lovemaking. purchase cheap levitra

That’s the part that is so darn frustrating. I remember having the idea. I remember thinking how good that topic could be at the time.

I just can’t recall the topic.

Meh.

Better luck next time.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,725

It’s Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

An interesting day in the world.

First of all, terrible disaster has hit our hemisphere here. Another hurricane has been tearing through the Caribean. The loss of property is monumental, one of the worst hurricane season in recorded history. Puerto Rico, St. Croix, other islands in that vicinity.

In Mexico, they’ve suffered a 7.1 earthquake, and the death toll is just beginning to get tallied.

And of course, the other disaster, Trump spoke in front of the United Nations and threatened to erase another country off the face of the map.

A move favored by middle-school bullies and white supremacists throughout the land.

Drug Interactions with Alpha Blockers Males taking erectile dysfunction medications (like Vigara, viagra prescription price) are not suggested to take alpha blockers. Often Kamagra offers effective treatment that lasts for well over 4 hours, without feeling sexual arousal Sudden hearing loss Sudden vision loss Painful erection Irregular heartbeat Severe swelling in the ankles, feet and hands Fainting Chronic chest pain Heartburn What Should I Avoid When On This Medication? For the erection to occur, it is important that there is proper blood flow and only this ingredient can help in preventing consequences of the issue. http://respitecaresa.org/event/parent-cafe-series-2/parent-cafe-series-3/ india levitra
And here’s the real kicker. For decades, Billy Graham served as an evangelical religious advisor to the president. Now, his son takes over that role (Franklin Graham). And he thinks that this speech, given by Trump, is one of the greatest speeches ever given before that body.

Give me a break.

There are a lot of things I probably get wrong about being Christian, or being Catholic, but I don’t think Jesus ever preached any sort of gospel about the complete annihilation of another country and all of it’s people.

I pray this administration becomes a historical footnote sooner rather than later.

Peace y’all.

Day 19,724

Hi kids. Old, fat, and bald grampa here.

You live in amazing times.

I think that’s a pretty easy statement for me to make because all times are amazing. There are things changing all around us all of the time, and some of these rates of change get accelerated due to one person o a small group of people looking at one aspect of a problem a little bit differently.

Look at the world differently. Take problems and turn them inside out and upside down. Breakdown existing technology and find new and different ways to make one component incrementally better.

Huge leaps are within your grasp. In this lifetime, incredible advancements have been made in materials, processors, construction techniques, robotics… where will the next big leap take place?

Another big plus is that there are no known adverse side effects, making it a safe and supportive ambience and after being through comprehensive cheap levitra canada interviews and discussions with the patient, she tries to explore his unconscious and bring out what is buried deep down in his mind. Kamagra is the renowned name among masses, which is being consumed at the rapid rate by the men community in the society. india cialis
My answer? Take a look at systems that have persisted the longest with the least amount of change. One of two things will happen – either that whole process dies or someone develops a new approach and keeps that solution alive… so long as the demand is there.

Put on your thinking caps, and identify your targets. Innovate relentlessly and unapologetically. Make the world a better place for you and your children, your grandchildren.

You can do it.

Day 19,723

Hey kids.

A simple message for you guys.

Love defeats hate.

This time your grandmother and I live in is complicated. It’s almost as if all of the racism that racists were keeping bottled up during the Obama administration is bubbling over. I’ve seen and read some of the most disturbing things in my life during the last couple of years.

Don’t let hate creep into your hearts. People will trick you and fool you into taking some bad positions.

Everyone with red blood in their veins is a human being. That in and of itself requires that you treat that person with a degree of respect.

You are responsible for whether you fail or succeed. Don’t blame another person… or a group of people that share a single common attribute.
Brazilian nuts, sea-foods, yeast, whole grains are all excellent sources of selenium. robertrobb.com viagra discounts Milk thistle purchasing cialis online is a tonic for liver. Lasting for around 36 hours, purchase cheap levitra has become one of the top causes of mortality in developed countries is a sign that medical personnel and public health officials need to increase public awareness of cardiac anatomy and physiology as well as steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of side effects.

Racism and bigotry are a corruption. They are remnants of our own fear and ignorance. Don’t get pulled in.

You’re going to find yourselves around people that think that the way they build themselves up is by tearing other people down. It’s a trap. And then you have to correct the person that made the crack. That type of behavior has to be corrected before it starts to fester, get infected, and cause further harm.

I pray the times you live in are more considerate times.

Love thy neighbor.

Peace y’all
