I’m in a weird mood… and this kind of ties into why I post my blog by “days”. Today is day 19,727 in my life (I probably ought to double check my math one of these times… I’d hate to find out I was projecting weird base-10 anniversaries based on bad math).

I hit day 10,000 of my life on 2/1/1991. I would’ve been 27 years old. If memory serves, I was recovering from having my right knee reconstructed. I lived in Salina. At that point, I would’ve been working at the Salina Journal, prior to my decision to get back into IT full-time. I wasn’t really involved with anyone then.

Day 20,000 hits next summer. I’ll be 54. I’ll hopefully still be gainfully employed by Centriq Training in Leawod, Kansas. I hope I’ll be renewed as a Regional Lead for the Microsoft Certified Trainer program.

Today has been a wonderful day. I turned 54. I had a wonderful breakfast, and great pizza for lunch, and a steak for dinner.

Seriously… can Kansas turn around the program before college football completely ends up in the dustbin of history?

It’s been an interesting day, kids.

One of the things I do from time to time is drive people from Point A to Point B. It gets me out of the house, and I make a little pocket change to buy the occasional doodad.

So, earlier tonight, I picked up a bunch of young ladies, college freshmen, at a popular local intersection, 14th and Ohio in Lawrence. More than the recommended jumped in, to my dismay, and I gave them a lift over to McDonald’s for a festive Friday night dinner.  These girls were all under 21, and had been drinking. After that ride, I had one of my regular passengers ping me to give him a ride to work, and I was grateful to see him after the experience I had just had with those young ladies.
