I like watching nature documentaries. Right now I’m watching BBC America, and there’s a series called Planet Earth. This episode is focused on life in the islands of the South Pacific.

I got into nature documentaries as a kid, one trait I have my father to thank for. We used to sit around as a family and watch Marlin Perkins on “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom”.  That came on Sunday’s, right before the Wonderful World of Disney.

After that, I was some crime story show with either McCloud, MacMillan and Wife, Heck Ramsey, or some other oddball one-off detective series that was good enough for a short run, but not quite good enough for a long run.

Anyway, I loved the nature shows. Wild Kingdom. Nova. Nature. The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau.

Seems like there are some really good shows being made today to heighten our awareness about nature and the world in which we live.

Twenty-eight days past my 20,000th day, and here I sit, at the office, just wrapping up the teaching day of m Office 365 class.

It’s been a pretty uneventful day for me. Got up, made coffee, updated my profile pic on Facebook and made my first post of the day about something I’m grateful for ( I try to do that every day).

I hit the road to work about 6:40, like I do every day I have to teach at the office. I don’t have to do that every day, one of the perks of being a trainer. I’m typically about 3 weeks on, then I’ll get a prep week of new and revised classes. Next week I prep from home, with a new version of my Azure class out, so I’ll spend some time going through labs and setup scripts.

After I get into the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, I get off I-435 onto State Line, then make a beeline for Price Chopper to get my breakfast. Sometimes I’ll grab a sandwich for lunch later.

Today was interesting. We had a bit of a media blackout from the time we started getting ready for church until we got home and started fixing lunch. The World Cup match between France and Croatia started at 10:00 AM ou time, but Dane was an altar server so that rather committed the family to go to 11:00 Mass at St. Lawrence today. Dane and I stopped off at the grocery store after to pick up a few things to put together a bit of a deli platter for lunch, complete withe dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, pickled okra, pickled red cherry peppers, and pepperoncini. OK, I’m back, but I’m going to be straight with y’all, I’m pretty much phoning this one in. My enthusiasm fir writing (really, my enthusiasm for much of anything) seems to be at a bit of a nadir at the moment. No real reason, just not feeling all that motivated at the moment. Had a little more trouble with Gracie’s car today. We’re going to have to do something about that before she goes back to school, or at least hope we can do something about it before then.
