This is my first Airbnb rental. I think next year I’ll get back into a regular conference hotel. It was ok to get away from the conference crowds, but I think if I were staying at a conference hotel, I would be more inclined to participate in some of the evening festivities. I was isolated, and that probably lead to a downgraded experience.

Then there is this place. It’s nice to have a kitchen, it’s nice to have a few extra choices regarding where to sleep, but it’s not going to help me out if all of the places to sleep are uncomfortable.

It’s a Thursday night in Orlando, and I decided to stay in.

Wednesday night in Orlando, the third night at the Microsoft Ignite conference. I’m chilling at the condo again tonight.

I had an invite to a party, but after the long day at the show, I decided to stay in, again.

I’m not a kid anymore. There was a time that I would’ve been the first guy out looking for some sort of party to go to, but the reality of it is, I’ve been coming to this conference since the summer of ’96. I’m here to see my peers and hang out, but the need to go out and party every single night has passed me up.

But that doesn’t infer that I had a bad day. I have had a very good day.

It’s your old grampa Bob here, reflecting on another day at the Microsoft Ignite conference.

So, I started off my day over in the hand=on lab area, where I normally work, taking a look at my practice test offerings. As I went ahead and scheduled myself to take the AZ-102 exam, I decided it would be wise to take a look at a practice test.

Now, don’t get ahead of yourselves here. One thing I know about the practice tests is that they will be close to what I might see in a Microsoft exam as far as content, I know that these questions won’t be close to what I should expect to see on the actual test. Very general, but one nice thing about the practice tests is that they can steer me in the right direction as far as content to focus on as I prepare for the test.

I’m not expecting to pass this exam tomorrow. I normally like a week or more to prepare. Gives me a chance to read more, study the sequences of events in certain procedures, etc.

Tomorrow I’ll have more time on the Hands-On Lab floor, but I won’t have quite as much territory to cover now that I know where everything is.

Today was the first day of the conference, as far as I’m concerned. Grabbed an Uber ride this morning, went over to IHOP for breakfast, then went over to the convention center.

It hacks me off a bit, but I put off the order, and I chose not to expedite. I could’ve paid extra to have them arrive on time, but the company’s estimate had them arriving on time. That’ll be the last time I go with a non-guaranteed delivery date.
