Evie Day 718
Good morning, everybody! It’s the beginning of a new work week! Today is Monday 3 March 2025.
I’m looking forward to reheating one of the sausage pastries Lisa made for breakfast Saturday morning. They go great with a fresh cup of coffee.
So, where shall I start? What is rubbing me the wrong way today?
There was a meeting last Friday, held under the guise of signing a mineral rights treaty between the US and Ukraine ( I didn’t know the US government owned any mining companies). There were three guys in the room, two bullies and one leader, and at the end of the meeting, one guy went to the golf course, another guy went to Vermont to go skiing, and the third returned to a warzone. After the meeting between the three, one of the three men apparently berated some of his staff about how he now won’t be able to win a Nobel Peace Prize. No one is surprised at all that this person would take a goal of peace halfway around the world and make it about him.
The mest part about Friday was going out for ice cream with Gracie and Evelyn Friday afternoon. I had not intended to spend anything on retail that day, but a small purchase at a locally-owned business was considered an acceptable expense during an economic statement.
Kansas stunk up Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday. We go down to Baylor for an 8:00 game tonight. I’m not optimistic.
Yesterday was a good afternoon. I spent some time with a number of the guys – we were still short a couple of players, but we made do. We fileted some big, bad, evil guys, including at least one vampire. Woohoo – life is a series of minor victories.
I have stuff to attend to today, professional stuff for the state’s records, as well as some studying and recording. We’ll get it sorted.
In the meantime…
I hope the world is treating you better than you deserve.
Peace y’all.
