OK, this is the post I should’ve posted last week, and deferred.
Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on 37 or 38 felony charges for the mishandling of classified documents after the conclusion of his presidency. The pictures came out of documents being stored in a ballroom, in a bathroom, and a storeroom with a copier. There appears to be evidence that Trump went to extreme measures to hide those documents from the National Archives and the FBI.
I have talked with people that hold or have held security clearance. I have family members that currently hold a security clearance. If the history of security clearance and classified document prosecution is any indicator of future events, this does not bode well for the former president. It’s a mess of his own doing. Reality Winner shared a single classified document about Russian interference in the 2016 election and she was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months in a federal penitentiary.
The rest of the stuff… we had a pretty rainy weekend, so I wasn’t able to get any mowing done. I did focus on work a bit, and got some things done in anticipation of teaching a new security course next week. I have more work to do, certainly, but I got a good start.
Other than that, not a whole lot else to share.
