Today was interesting. We had a bit of a media blackout from the time we started getting ready for church until we got home and started fixing lunch. The World Cup match between France and Croatia started at 10:00 AM ou time, but Dane was an altar server so that rather committed the family to go to 11:00 Mass at St. Lawrence today. Dane and I stopped off at the grocery store after to pick up a few things to put together a bit of a deli platter for lunch, complete withe dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, pickled okra, pickled red cherry peppers, and pepperoncini. Add in some cheese slices, hard salami, summer sausage and some crackers, and that becomes a rock solid plowman’s lunch.
Yeah.. might have been a bit heavy on the salt. I doubt my cardiologist would’ve approved.
France won. Great match. I felt a little bit for Croatia. France’s team was the second youngest roster at this year’s World Cup. They could repeat.
Next year… the women. USA is the defending World Cup champions.
