OK, it’s a Monday night, time for the old man to get his blog written, and it looks like my hosting service has upgraded my normal WordPress editor to a different editor called ‘Gutenberg’. I don’t have enough info yet to render an opinion, so I’ll just keep writing and thinking about how I feel about this particular addition to the mix.
One thing I have ascertained is that there is not running word count. One thing that I have tried to accomplish with my blogging is some consistency with my entries, aiming for and almost always accomplishing a 200-word minimum. It was fairly easy to do with the classic editor, but now, with Gutenberg, don’t see a word count popping up anywhere. That is going to be problematic moving forward.
Maybe I need to get it in my head that this could be a good thing, after all, if I worry about getting to 200 words, and I can’t see whether or not I’ve achieved that particular goal, I’ll likely keep writing until there is no doubt that I’ve gone well past that particular milestone.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
