Hey gang. Time to do that blog thing, and I’ve got to do a little nostalgia fill.
I first became involved in theater while I was in junior high. I played the villainĀ in an old-style melodrama called “The Purloined Pearls” while I was in 7th grade. At least one notable friendship ensued from that experience, and Rebecca, you know that was you.
After that school year, I auditioned for a summer production at the Salina Community Theater for Stephen Vincent Benet’s Stories of America. I was cast in the part of Johnny Pie in the tale of “Johnny Pie and the Fool Killer”. I played Johnny Pie from age 11 until adulthood, then another performer took over the part for the finale.
The director that cast me in that part was Richard Junk.

Thank you, Richard Junk. I hope you are greeted at the gates with a chicken impersonation.
Peace y’all.
