Day 20,081

Hello, future people… some of you might be the grandchildren I hope to have one day, others of you might be investigating something I haven’t done yet.

I have to throw in some lines like that every now and then for the drama. Gotta keep you all on your toes.

It’s been a good day. Got some mowing in, watched some football, made dinner, and now I’m with you.

At least for 200 words.

Today the Kansas City Chiefs opened their 2018 campaign with a road trip to the Los Angeles (formerly San Diego) Chargers. The Chargers were favored over the Chiefs by a field goal. The Chargers received the opening kickoff, went three-and-out, then punted… to Chiefs’ returner Tyriek Hill… and he took it to the house. The Chiefs pretty much controlled the game the rest of the way, giving up a few pity points late.

I like it when my football teams win.

Still, I wonder about the game. It’s a wonderful, brutal game. People get hurt. People get permanently injured.

It’s kind of sad, really.

But they are the modern gladiators. We love our bread and circuses.

Tomorrow, I’m back at it, teaching Exchange for a couple of weeks before I head out to Orlando on the 22nd.

I’ve enjoyed my little break from the classroom, but I’ll be happy to get back to what I know.

I hope your life is filled with love and hope.

Peace y’all.
