OK, so now there’s this weird little epiphany where I stop and realize that, yes, I have three kids. I have three wonderful kids. But… and that’s a big but… I have no guarantee that any of my kids will have kids of their own.
Part of this cynicism comes from my firm grasp of reality. My kids don’t have kids, so the future is wide open, and completely unpredictable. Seriously. I might not have any grandchildren (sad), or Lisa and I could end up with so many grandchildren that we have a hard time keeping up with birthday cards.
Back to the state of the world.
