Day 19,697

Hey, kids, let me tell you what the old man did today.

I drove all over northeast Kansas looking for a spot to watch this eclipse that happened today.

The weather did not cooperate. I drove through some rain as I headed up to Hiawatha, Kansas, and then turned back east because traffic was squirrelly.  Got to Atchison, Kansas, then turned back to Hiawatha coming back in from the east instead of the south.

Found a decent place on a little stretch of four-lane highway just south of town.

Cloud cover, teasing sun break, cloud cover, over.

I was able to watch the sun get covered t about 66% or so. Then 100% cloud cover that persisted until the whole thing was over.

That was a bit of a let down. I compared it to Charlies Brown on Halloween.

Might need to go outside now – the weather right now, thunder, lightning, is a little bit better show than what I had a chance to see early this afternoon.

I’m going to wrap this up. Need to get outside and see what I can get out there to share with some people. That, and I really ought to get up anyway. Been sitting too much today.

Love you. Peace y’all.
