There are some really great songs from the 80’s. Several of them were written by a guy named Billy Squire.
I reflect tonight on “The Stroke”.
This song is all about living and feeding on that which out egos require. Tell me how good I am, tell me how great I am, tell me how I’m having such a great effect on everybody’s lives.
It’s about people that are insulated. People that create their own reality.
Can’t do that, folks.
You have to take control of your reality and interpret the signs, the facts, the measurables around you to know that you are living in the same reality as everybody else.
You can’t live in a false reality all of the time.
This reality can be hard.

This reality can criticize and wear you down.
This reality is an experience shared by all.
I couldn’t trust somebody that lived in a different version of reality that is full of unverifiable facts and questionable measurables.
We need to understand each other’s view. It’s the only way that we can understand and share this world.
I hope your view of the world has a lot in common with my view. It makes it easier for us to talk and be friends.
Peace y’all.
