I’m thinking a lot today about what it means to be an American.
I’ve been called a traitor by some that support the current administration, but I feel like I’m supporting some pretty American traits in my defiance of the Russian candidate.
Sounds a bit like “The Manchurian Candidate”.
Our country and its history is far from perfect. Only an idiot would like back and not feel a pang of guilt over the way certain groups of people have been treated poorly.
While I was researching my family history, I discovered an interesting person in my family history, Benjamin Harrison, the governor of Virginia at the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
(BTW, if I’ve written about this before, I apologize… I’m not real big on going back and reading my old blog posts)

Benjamin Harrison signed the Declaration, but he was also a slave owner. I can’t do anything about history, and learn from it, and do my best to treat my fellows with the respect due any human being.

I guess I’m losing track of my train of thought.
I am proud to be an American. I wish I had been able to serve my country, but I couldn’t…probably all for the best anyway.
God bless America… we need all the help we can get these days.
Peace y’all.
